The wild horses of the Steens Mountain Wilderness are named Kigers, after the Kiger Gorge where they were first discovered. They are a resilient herd, living in arduous conditions, yet adapting to their habitat as they best can. Family is a vignette of 5 herd members who so kindly let me observe them for a long while. "They" say that the innermost feelings one has towards others is always reciprocated. My feelings for this herd was pure love. They were watching me watching them. Both the herd and myself, moving very little, perhaps as to not disturb the powerful feeling of love shared between us.
