Trees offer symbols of anchoring, rootedness, and wisdom. I painted this tree on the eve of my grandmother Francoise's passing. She was 100 years old. She was my measure, she taught me to breathe deeply soaking in the smell of nature on our walks in the forest.
The winter season allows the tree to show its architectural structure and strength. Intricate, and beautifully designed, the branches twist and intertwine to weave a pattern of pure genius.
